Morning Workshops
Afternoon Workshops
1. 7 hour walk to school (with monkey attacks?!)
- David Radcliff, Director of New Community Project
Youth around the world have to deal with poverty, war, bias against girls, distance to school (in Nepal, some girls have a 7-hour roundtrip walk up and down a mountain to school every day – with monkeys harassing them along the way). Join a discussion of what kids need to succeed – and what we can do about it. Photos from Africa and Asia.
2. Recognizing Privilege: Seeing Through New Eyes
- Chelsea Goss Skillen, Brethren Volunteer Service
What does it mean to have privilege, and how does it shape the way we see the world? In this interactive workshop, we’ll participate in a
thought-provoking game that allows us to see privilege—and the lack of it—in a new way. We’ll explore what privilege means, how it impacts our communities, and how we can respond with compassion and humility. Together, we’ll discuss how recognizing privilege can deepen our empathy and strengthen our commitment to Christ’s call for justice and love. This session provides a safe space to ask questions, share perspectives, and grow as compassionate leaders of faith. Come ready to learn, reflect, and be inspired to make a difference.
